Most Anticipated 2015

January is one of my favourite times of the year theme park wise because I get to start thinking about and planning everything I'm going to be doing that season, and 2015 is no exception! I'm on a bit more of a budget than I would have been in previous years so I won't be doing as much this year but that doesn't mean I can't get excited about things!

Baron 1898 - Efteling
I remember this being announced and just being in utter disbelief. A Dive Machine? In Efteling? Oh my god this is going to be amazing. Concept art is showing that Efteling are sparing no expense at keeping this beast of a coaster thematically in line with the rest of the park, and I know I'm not the only enthusiast not only gagging to ride but also positively foaming at the mouth to see how Efteling have managed to incorporate what is usually such a formidable coaster into their family themed surroundings.

Horror-Nights - Europa Park

For my birthday this year I'm planning on revisiting one of my favourite parks for their Halloween event. I went in 2012 and was really impressed by not only the park itself but the extensive Halloween event that felt more akin to a music festival than a seasonal change of theming. During my visit a few years ago I had yet to discover the glory that is resort hotels so this time round I will be sure to check out one of many on park hotels at the Europa Park Resort.

Completion of construction - Shanghai Disneyland
This will be the second time in my enthusiastic career that I have witnessed the construction of a Disney park from mud to magic (the first being Hong Kong Disneyland). I don't plan on visiting for a few years yet once the teething problems are out of the way and the fairy dust has settled but nevertheless 2015 will be exciting to watch the development of this glorious chain of theme parks as the put the finishing touches on what will no doubt be another exemplary attraction.

Enchanted Village - Alton Towers
There is little doubt in my mind that my love affair with Alton Towers will dwindle in the 2015 season. I already have a few visits lined up in my calendar (I WILL get to those fireworks this year if it kills me!) and can't wait to go and have a wander around the newest addition to the resort lodgings; the Enchanted Village. Comprised of luxury treehouses and mock Hobbit huts, the Enchanted Village definitely seems set on bringing the magic in a big way to the Towers this year. Although I doubt I can afford to stay this time around, I look forward to having a mooch anyway.

Wiener Prater - Vienna

With my new job underway mid-week trips to Europe are out of the question and so my travels will primarily focus on weekends away this year. Top of my list is the fabulous Wiener Prater Park in the centre of Vienna. The park boasts 10 rollercoasters on top of some amazing looking vintage theme park rides and walk throughs.

Japan
In September I'm heading away on the trip of a lifetime to the Far East for two weeks in Japan. I am so excited for this, it's been on the cards for a few years and now it's finally happening! Not only am I going to visit some amazing Japanese theme parks including Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, but I also get to go to the Studio Ghibli Museum and the Hello Kitty Cafe! I can't get over all the ridiculous stuff I'll be doing, September can not come sooner.

So that's all the major stuff on my calendar for 2015, I'm sure some more smaller trips and such will pop up. Bring it on!
