RIP Philip Seymour Hoffman

Just a quick appreciation post for the one and only Philip Seymour Hoffman who was tragically discovered dead in his apartment this evening. He was one of those actors that you just couldn't pinpoint, forever calling for a frantic search on IMDB to discover where exactly you had seen his oddly recognisable face before. Philip Seymour Hoffman airs a kind of sleazy charm that no matter how grotesque a character he portrays we always end up liking and sympathising with him. He is the common denominator for a lot of my favourite films and it is upsetting to know that his quirky characterisations will never grace our screens in any new feature again. I adore his work and have listed some film credits of his below that I highly recommend if you fancy a bit of 'off-the-beaten-track' style of film. RIP sir, and thank you.

Mary and Max, 2009.
Magnolia, 1999.
The Master, 2012.
Happiness, 1998.
Boogie Nights, 1997.
