What's In My Basket? January Edition

It’s the end of the month, and my god has it been a long one. I’m practically living in a cave until payday, with only my laptop for company. Don’t know about you guys, but I like to play a game where I live in a fantasy world where I trawl the internet, fill up loads of baskets on various shopping sites, imagining how happy I’d be if I could just buy all of it! So, I thought I’d try a new thing where at the end of every month when I’m destitute I share with you all what I’m lusting over.

I’ve become a little bit obsessed with the idea of harnesses for summer. Like a harness underneath with a baggy t-shirt or vest revealing the detail? In my head it looks nice, in practice it’ll probably fall flat, who knows. Through my obsession, I stumbled across this gorgeous dress by Noisy May on Asos. It’s just a plain black dress but has this incredible leather harness detailing in the back, it must be mine!

New Look is one of those stores I hardly ever get anything from, but when I do I end up wearing it all the time! I’m kind of set on the idea of dungaree dresses being a staple of my SS16 wardrobe, and am on the hunt for the perfect pieces, which I think I’ve found here in this Blue Denim Pinafore Dress (although I’m secretly holding out for Primark to swoop in and save the day.)

I’m also eyeing up this Stacey Denim Dungaree Dress (white) from Boohoo and these Roughneck Dungarees (black) from Drop Dead (please go into sale, please!).

Next up is my Gypsy Warrior basket. I’m always debating with myself over whether I can justify the $19 flat rate shipping charge for the UK. But then what if I get hit with customs charges too? Urgh, too many uncertainties. I have a plan that involves getting a package sent to my villa in Florida though, so hopefully it’ll all work out in the end.

Anyway, I’ve got my eye on a couple of pieces and there seems to be a bit of a theme. First up is this awesome Moon Kimono. I don’t own a simple black kimono anymore and love the plain white crescent moon on the back.

The next is this mini dress from their Many Moons range. I love the little crescent moon print and actually had my eye on the maxi skirt too, but it’s sold out now *sob*.

Finally, the motherload, Motel. I think their light cotton material is perfect for summer dresses and I plan on stocking up!

I love the cut of the Deena Babydoll dress. Light and floaty but pretty and stylish at the same time. I’ve got both the Sundial and Floral print in my basket and I do plan on nabbing both.

I do already have a leopard print skirt but it’s kind of a ponyhair, thicker material and I wanted something more suited to a warmer climate. I’ve never bought a shorter skirt from Motel so excited to see how the Annie A Line Skirt wears!

I’ve had my eye on the Motel X Grace Neutral range for a while and knew I had to get something from it! I’ve plumped for this gorgeous little slip dress. I adore the unique geometric design and love the added strappy detail in the back.

I’m sure I won’t end up getting all of this, buy hey, a girl can dream!

Do you stock up your online basket in preparation for payday? What do you picture your SS16 wardrobe looking like? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to hear from you!

Until then, bring on payday!
