Completing the UK - Update
I kicked off my 2015 season in style yesterday at the opening day of the new Octonauts Rollercoaster Adventure at the Alton Towers Resort. The day was perfect theme park weather, clear sunny skies for most of the day with that crisp cut cold that prevents major crowds from descending. I always love walking around parks on opening day and seeing the other groups of enthusiasts milling around, it gets me really geared up for the rest of the season!
As you can see my first +1 of the year, along with the first of the countdown of coasters left in the UK for me to ride was the new Octonauts Rollercoaster Adventure, a family style coaster that is the latest addition to the ridiculously popular Cbeebies Land that opened last year. The coaster is really playful and colourful, with awesome water and sound effects to compliment the experience. Sadly a few things, such as the bubble machine, were not up and running for opening day which is a slight let down. The area does feel slightly separate and segregated from the rest of Cbeebies Land, I can only hope that once they've decided what to do with Sonic Spinball that Alton will remove the temporary looking fences and open the whole area right up!
The rest of the day involved making the most of minimal queues of old favourites, posting silly tweets and generally just enjoying being back in a them park after a long few months away. And I am happy to be well on track for my goal of riding every coaster in the UK this season!
